Membership
Membership of the Russian Convoy Club of New Zealand is open to all
ex-service personnel and their families, including those of the Merchant
Navy, who served in the Arctic Convoys during the Second World War.
The Arctic Convoys commenced with the first convoy "Dervish" which set
out from Hvalfjord, Iceland on 21 August 1941 and finished following the
return of "RA67" which sailed from Kola Inlet, Russia on 23 May 1945
arriving in the Clyde Estuary, Scotland on 30 May 1945.
Membership Criteria
Members will be those ex-service personnel or Merchant Navy personnel
and their immediate families.
Membership Categories

Convoy Membership is open to those persons
who served on Arctic Convoys during WW2 between 21 August 1941
and 30 May 1945 i.e. participated in one or more of the convoys
detailed on the
Convoy Numbers page. |

Arctic Membership is open to those persons
who served in Arctic waters during WW2. Arctic waters are
defined as the sea area north of the Arctic Circle and east of
longitude 24°W between 3
September 1939 and 8 May 1945. Click on map below. |

Associate Membership is open to those
persons ineligible for (1) or (2) above, but who have an
interest in furthering the aims of the Club. |

Spouse Membership is open to the spouse of
those persons eligible for (1) and (2) above. Spouses and widows
of those persons eligible for (1) and (2) above are offered free
membership. |

5. |
Other memberships (e.g. Honorary Membership) are
at the discretion of the Club. |

How to Become a Member
Persons who comply with the criteria for Convoy or Arctic
membership may complete an

submit with supporting documentation (as detailed on the form). Persons
who comply with the criteria for Associate or Spouse
membership may complete an application form available

and submit with any supporting documentation. An

Honorary Membership
Honorary memberships may be conferred from time to time on persons
who have offered support to the Club.
Subscriptions
The Club charges each member a nominal annual subscription to cover
overheads. The subscription is currently set at NZ$10.00 per annum and
is payable on 31 March in each year.
